CHARACTERISTICS
 
  • Spacious circuit with long straights and wide sweeping turns
  • Excellent wet weather racing surface
  • Type soil is loamy and track is fully irrigated
  • The Ballan Cup is run on the grass track over a distance of 1500 metres and starts from the chute at the back of the track giving all horses a chance to be well positioned with a straight run of some 500 metres before the turn
